EXHIBITIONS

‘Tsantilis Art’ Gallery presents ‘Glorious Immortality’, a solo exhibition by well-acclaimed visual artist Antonia Iroidou.
Following her artistic pursuits from an early age, Iroidou attended Hochschule für Musik, Theatre und Medien Hannover (Germany), and Conservatorium Luzern (Switzerland).
Her creative journey led her to Digital Art with which she fell in love. She draws inspiration from both the classical and the modern representations of ancient Greek personalities, sculptures, and civilization.
She has participated in numerous group exhibitions (PROJECT 2 ATHENS, ATHENS DOGMA). Her work was selected by the Gala magazine of the newspaper PROTO THEMA for the five years anniversary issue.
The timeless importance of ancient Greek culture is the source of her inspiration for ‘Glorious Immortality’. The artist tried to bring the “ancient” to the present day with an experiential approach. The color contrasts, the unexpected forms, and the harmonious coexistence of figures from the mythological and historical past give the twelve works a modernized version of Greek history. In the resulting process of eclectic syncretism, ancient symbols acquire new meanings, leading to an open conversation between the past and the present.
